Job Details

Data Intelligence / Analytics Engineers specialize in data historians/databases, advanced analytics, and process control systems. They are responsible for all programming aspects of assigned projects, and have the ability to develop viable solutions that meet client needs. The engineer/programmer designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software-programming applications, and supports the install and testing of the software applications. The skill set requires experience with upgrading/ installing/ configuration of various data platforms (Ignition, OSIsoft PI, PTC ThingWorx), development skills, fluency in the configuration of process control systems, and knowledge of data analytics.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Roles and responsibilities for this job may include but are not limited to:
  • Architecture, implementation, and configuration of historian and/or data analytic solutions (e.g., OSIsoft PI, Inductive Automation Ignition, PTC ThingWorx, Aspectech, Rockwell Automation, Falkonry, etc.)
  • Configuration of visualization tools such as OSIsoft PI DataLink / Vision, Ignition Vision / Perspective, Rockwell VantagePoint
  • Program, design, analyze, code, implement, and test software applications, modules, and databases in various languages, including those associated with scientific, technical, or engineering concerns
  • Preparing data sources for analysis
  • Reporting the results back to the relevant members of the business
  • Preparing data to identify patterns and trends in data sets
  • Defining new data collection and analysis processes
  • Human-Machine Interface (HMI) development
  • Interface with clients to understand and documents project scope of work
  • System documentation and review
  • Provide post-commissioning support to the client's operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel
  • Travel to the client's site as required

Required Experience
  • Degreed in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or similar scientific / technical field

Ideal Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar engineering role
  • Experience/certification or interest in relevant applications (OSIsoft PI,
  • Ignition, PTC, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Aspentech, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Databases, MS SQL, Oracle, Ignition SQL Bridge Module
  • Programming experience (e.g., OSIsoft PI-SDK and AF-SDK, Python scripting, MatLab, etc.)
  • Experience in interface technologies (e.g., OPC, modbus, RDBMS, Batch
  • File interfaces, Universal File Loaders)
  • Knowledge of Process Automation
  • Interest or experience in AI/Machine Learning
  • Knowledge of System Integration Testing and Unit Testing
  • Competent user of Microsoft office products including use of Excel and Word
  • Ability to work unsupervised at client locations
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and flexibly with a team
  • Ability to set priorities and manage workloads in order to meet deadlines, yet careful with work quality and attention to details
  • Industry experience in Food and Beverage, Chemical, Pharma, Semiconductor, Water & Wastewater, Refining, Pulp and Paper, Oil/Gas Pipeline, Power Generation, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, Material Handling, or Packaging
