Plant Supervisor

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (on-site)

Reports To: Plant Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Plant Supervisor assists the Plant Manager in the day-to-day operations of our modern new silver minting operation. Responsibilities vary across all aspects of the facility's production, quality control, scheduling, staffing, safety, and security functions (as assigned).

Responsibilities:
Supervise assigned shift(s) in keeping with all Company SOPs and process standards
Optimize production schedules to achieve 100% fill rates while minimizing downtime and employee overtime
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and protocols
Ensure site security protocols are followed at all times in accordance with corporate standards and protocols
Assist Plant Manager in driving a continuous improvement process that identifies ongoing improvements and best practice implementation opportunities
Perform equipment setups, preventative maintenance tasks, and repairs
Ensure all physical plant standards are maintained during assigned shift(s), including housekeeping, building maintenance, lawn-care and snow removal
Prepare all required reports in an accurate and timely manner
Assist in training new hires; provide feedback on employee performance reviews
Ensure that all safety, security, and testing equipment is properly tested and maintained on a scheduled basis
Substitute for the Plant Manager in his/her absence
All other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or other advanced technical training and/or certifications preferable in one of the following disciplines: engineering, metallurgy, chemistry, or process automation
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a light manufacturing environment as it relates experience with background in production, quality control and testing, maintenance, and process engineering
Experience in metal transformation, processing and casting highly desirable
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance in both safety and health areas, including OSHA
Prior experience in an ISO-certified environment highly desirable
Hands-on experience with PLC's, electronic controls, and equipment operations and maintenance required
Proven ability to consistently manage against detailed SOPs required
Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage people across multiple shifts in Plant Manager's absence
Track record of meeting or exceeding key process KPI's including (but not limited to): order fill rates, quality metrics, line utilization, and total lost time injuries
Valid UT Drivers' License
Ability to think on one's feet and make sound judgements quickly, particularly in emergency situations
Ability to pass detailed pre-employment and ongoing background checks and drug screenings
Ability to sit, stand, and patrol on feet for extended periods of times in all climates and work environments (internal and external)
Stable work history with a demonstrated track record of reliability and previous job performance
Reliable self-starter than can perform assigned tasks effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
Strong MS Office suite software skills
Previous experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/MRP software systems
Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Collaborative, interpersonal, and decisive work style. Maintains positive and professional relationships with internal and external contacts.
Must have excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
Must have flexibility to work night or weekend shifts as demand requires.
