Job Summary:

The administrative assistant position is responsible for supporting the various Commercial Lines departments by accurately and efficiently following the workflows developed. We are looking for the right person to join our team and uphold our standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Working directly with carriers to obtain policies, endorsements, audit and cancellations
  • Processing Insurance Certificates
  • Handling and processing daily mail
  • Working within our management system, Applied Epic
  • Assist with reception coverage; greeting client/guest, manage main phone line/incoming calls
  • Create Insurance Summaries
  • Create Insurance Claims Guides
  • Review and interpret insurance endorsements
  • Perform other duties and/or handle special projects as assigned
  • Pursue personal and professional development
  • Keeps confidential records
  • Types correspondence including letters, memoranda, miscellaneous correspondence
  • Maintains files and records attributed to RCM&D, committees, Executive Board and vendors
  • Comply with E&O Plus, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Additional duties may be assigned


Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills:
  • High School diploma or GED; an associate's degree in business or prior insurance experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Applied EPIC is desired, but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for positive interaction with customers and co-workers, supporting the team concept of the department.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to navigate various insurance carrier sites to obtain policies, endorsements, audit and cancellations.
  • Ability to be productive and anticipate next steps in the process.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn; work collaboratively with internal and external RCM&D team.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability, works well under pressure, and is able to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates agility and is able to multi-task, as well as pivot to changing priorities, as circumstances warrant.
  • Projects confidence in interactions with colleagues and clients.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint.
