Position Details

This position is a seasoned executive leading Tilson's strategic opportunities and business development effort for outside plant design build services. The ideal candidate is well connected and respected in the telecommunications industry as a thought leader and problem solver for clients and business partners. The Vice President, OSP Strategy + Business Development will value long term partnerships and have strong operational sensibilities. This position reports to our Senior Vice President and works closely with Tilson's business line leaders and affiliate companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Tilson's strategic partnerships and business development strategy for OSP, including yearly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Responsible for achieving Tilson's OSP revenue targets.
  • Identify target partners and customers and generate leads, qualify opportunities, and secure large revenue opportunities.
  • Understand the technical and operational aspects of Tilson's OSP services. Engage customers in a consultative approach by leveraging a deep understanding of the work, our processes, and industry trends.
  • Work collaboratively with Tilson leadership, product management, engineering, bid management, finance and operations to source and structure deals that deliver value to our customers.
  • Lead the team's response to RFPs. Provide executive review of major initiatives.
  • Present large opportunities requiring investment to Tilson's leadership committee; conduct associated financial modeling and assessment of growth opportunities, risks and operational requirements.
  • Develop corporate strategy to pursue federal and local government programs across all Tilson lines of business with specific focus on developing Tilson Infrastructure opportunities.
  • Lead business case development for opportunities deemed strategic to Tilson.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in a business development or related role within the telecommunications industry.
  • Demonstrated fiber carrier relationships at the highest levels with key decision makers.
  • Ability to use Zoho platform to track and report opportunities and key metrics.
  • Ability to think strategically while also operating tactically.
  • Proven ability to drive sales process to a close; must be motivated by closing deals.
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Passionate about advancing America's information infrastructure by leveraging current knowledge in fiber communications.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed, with up to ~50% travel within the US.

Tilson leads with integrity around pay transparency; as part of the compensation plan for this position you can expect a pay range of:

$175,000.00 - $215,000.00
