Job Details

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within the organization. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Senior Accountant will assist in preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and providing proper documentation for tax returns to a tax consulting firm. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will support internal and bank audit preparations and perform other assigned accounting duties.

To be successful in this role, the candidate should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding Senior Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working independently and performing well under pressure.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform reconciliations as needed.
  • Follow the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk.
  • Ensure financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Assist the Vice President of Finance by providing required statements and information for internal/external audits.
  • Act as a backup to the VP of Finance.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Assist with financial analysis.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies, making recommendations when necessary to support the Vice President of Finance.
  • Maintain accounting system records for the department.
  • Liaise with the Credit and Financing team to ensure accuracy within the system.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vice President of Finance.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Excellent supervisory skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Mastery of accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.


Preferred:
  • Five years of insurance brokerage experience.
  • Knowledge of Applied TAM or EPIC is a plus.
