Description
Sight & Sound Systems, Inc. (SASSI) is seeking an experienced designer for our rapidly-expanding residential furnishings services. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Designer will help execute a new program to address a growing market for residential lighting and window treatments. The successful Designer works directly with clients to develop project specifications and then collaborates with sales associates, project managers, and other team members across the organization throughout the sales process. The Designer plays an integral role in the Sales department through:
- Utilizing software tools to produce project specification documentation
- Interacting with clients in a sales capacity from initial contact through completion of complex, multi-disciplinary projects
- Other duties may include client communication and traveling for meetings and site visits to ensure that the installations are in compliance with design documents
Responsibilities - Undertake residential interior design projects from concept to completion
- Define project requirements and schedule
- Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans
- Produce project proposals using proprietary software
- Research and recommend products based on client needs
- Guide clients in making product and fabric selections
- Input orders accurately in vendor system
- Continuously follow up to ensure work remains on schedule
- Collaborate with other designers and members of the sales team
- Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices
Minimum Requirements - Residential furnishings decorating or design experience
- Proven working experience in decorating interior spaces
- Expertise in color, lighting, materials selection, furnishings, installations
- Excellent attention to detail while handling multiple project requests in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word and aptitude for learning new software
- Impeccable customer service, passion for design, and creating lasting relationships with clients
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications - Experience selling low-voltage lighting and/or window treatments
- Relevant industry certification
Compensation and Benefits Package - $42,000 annual base salary plus commission (about $65,000 to $95,000 total annually)
