**Description**

Represent the hotel at the main entrances by greeting arriving and departing guests enthusiastically. Park and retrieve guest vehicles in a timely, courteous manner. Provide luggage assistance. Manage all aspects of the valet and doorman operations.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Responsible for managing all aspects of the valet and doorman operation at the property, to include scheduling, training, and liaising between staff and guests/customers.

Read luggage tags and provide claim tickets to ensure appropriate delivery. Grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, luggage or boxes up to 75 lbs. from cars, buses and vans, placing packages and luggage onto baggage carts or in a secure area for retrieval by bell staff.

Park guest vehicles and retrieve valet-parked guest vehicles in a timely and courteous manner; use claim tickets to ensure appropriate delivery of vehicle. Move from door post to and from other areas throughout the hotel in response to customer needs.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Abilities

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to pitch-in and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information. Ability to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage with sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage up to 75 lbs. Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions. Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and walking. Considerable knowledge of and ability to communicate clear directions to nearby local attractions and hotel facilities and services. Considerable knowledge of city and surrounding areas. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
