Program Coordinator - Department of Counselor Education

Description of Position

The Department of Counselor Education Program Coordinator provides support for the MS in Counseling graduate program. The Program Coordinator is an integral part of the department team.

This is a non-exempt, twelve-month, full-time, position under the direct supervision of the Department Chair.

Essential Functions

  • Organizes and coordinates preparations for new student interviews, student orientations, registrations and provide general help for students.
  • Plans and oversees registration and administration of counselor credentialing exams.
  • Coordinates with extended university services office in meeting admission requirements and assists in admissions activities.
  • Organizes and maintains office operations including filing systems, data entry, record keeping, processing purchase orders, set up and monitoring student accounts, meeting arrangements and answering phones.
  • Prepares and tracks adjunct and faculty overload contracts and workload sheets, and adjunct schedules.
  • Facilitates and coordinates university processes, including coordination with Admissions, Registrar, Business Office, and Financial Aid, for current and prospective students.
  • Assists faculty with travel planning as needed.
  • Maintains department's website.
  • Maintains textbook ordering and submissions each semester.
  • Prepares for new classes each semester and maintains current information in the Learning Management System.
  • Updates graduate catalog annually and tracks changes for future revisions.
  • Updates and maintains academic advisor lists and maintains semester schedules and student registration procedures.
  • Updates and maintains posted semester calendars with events, courses, and faculty schedules.
  • Maintains all student files for current students and graduates/alumni.
  • Maintains all records necessary for the NBCC Approved Provider status.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Minimum Requirements
  • The University requires that all candidates be Christians (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with, in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU
  • High motivation and commitment to the University, including the ability to self-start, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, be able to multi-task, problem-solve, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • High level of confidence in contacting prospects via telephone and through other methods of technology
  • Proficient in the use of Word and Excel with the ability to learn university-specific computer programs
  • Must be dependable and possess strong organization skills
  • Ability to perform detail work with accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with others and foster teamwork

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • Current knowledge of NNU and the Master of Science in Counseling program
  • Database and bookkeeping experience

Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant.
