Entry Level Electrical Designer

Summary:

Kapur is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Designer to join our team to provide electric design services for residential, commercial, and industrial communities within the WE Energies account. In this role, you will be responsible for creating site plans, maps, meter locations, and routes using MicroStation software. As a Designer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of gas and electric systems while collaborating with builders, communicating through email, phone, and onsite interactions.


Responsibilities:

  • the software tool, MicroStation, to create accurate and detailed designs for gas and electric systems in residential, commercial, and industrial communities.
  • with builders to understand project requirements and effectively communicate design specifications and progress updates.
  • and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
  • site plans, maps, meter locations, and routes that align with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and We Energies guidelines.
  • with WE Energy customers on construction sites to determine equipment and utility locations.
  • manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and high-quality deliverables are produced.
  • thorough research and analysis to identify potential design issues or improvements and propose appropriate solutions.
  • in the development and improvement of design processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to gas and electric design services.


Requirements:

  • minimum of a high school diploma is required.
  • education in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical is preferred.
  • license and reliable vehicle required.
  • to complete site visits and travel to office in inclement weather.
  • in gas and/or electric design services, preferably in the residential, commercial, or industrial sectors is a plus.
  • using design software, specifically MicroStation, with a strong understanding of design principles and best practices.
  • verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with builders, stakeholders, and team members.
  • organizational skills and ability to handle a high workload, managing up to 20 projects concurrently.
  • mindset with a focus on producing accurate and error-free designs.
  • and adaptable approach to problem-solving, with the ability to navigate challenges and changes in project requirements.
  • and proactive attitude, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Training:

The selected candidate will undergo a comprehensive training program, which will span approximately three months. This training will cover the specific design processes, tools, and workflows utilized within the We Energies account, as well as the software applications and communication protocols.
