Kyber Research, a subsidiary of Bullpen Strategy Group, is a unique firm that assists clients with requesting and retrieving public records from across the United States and the world. Kyber works with law firms, corporations, investment funds, nonprofit organizations, and other clients to retrieve publicly available records from local, state, and federal agencies, including court documents, business and tax filings, criminal records, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, among other public records.
We are seeking a talented individual to serve as a Senior Analyst. Qualified candidates possess 2+ years of relevant research experience from either Capitol Hill, political campaigns, in law, public relations, or public affairs work.
Ideal candidates will have a proven background in receiving, reviewing, and analyzing data intensive requests.
Candidates should be excited to contribute to the innovation of new systems and processes and appreciate collaboration. Exceptional writing skills, a familiarity with relevant policy areas, awareness of the current political landscape, and a killer political instinct are required.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide guidance to clients and devise custom records requests programs to identify all pertinent public records.
- Coordinate and insure the timely acquisition of public records.
- Draft and submit Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests, answer questions, and follow-up with responding agencies.
- Analyze records obtained and write reports on findings.
- Work with internal teams to business development opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of all public records obtained.
Requirements:
- Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks at the same time.
- Strong research and writing skills are preferred.
- Experience and familiarity with public records law preferred.
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree, preferably in political science, communications, economics, or related field.
- Experience with a legislative body, campaign, trade association, public affairs firm, journalism, law, or lobbying.
