GS&F is looking for an Assistant Media Planner/Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will provide organizational and buying support to the media director and other media department members on assigned accounts. You will also be responsible for developing the necessary experience and requirements to carry out the future role/responsibilities of media planner/buyer.



QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • We believe that years of experience is just a number. That said, typically someone in this role has 1-2 years of media experience.
  • Assist in monitoring clients' media schedules, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Interact with media sales representatives as necessary to evaluate their products and how they might be utilized to serve client needs.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all offline and online media for the purpose of purchasing and future planning responsibilities.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the client's business, markets, and concerns on assigned accounts.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all available research and learn techniques for applying research to the media planning process.
  • When making buys, implement all executional phases to ensure timely follow-up for the processing of insertion/broadcast orders, traffic instructions, and post-analysis functions.
  • Coordination and implementation of competitive tracking reports.
  • Coordinate and implement ad details, trafficking, invoice billing and discrepancies.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the media library, media kit files, and research/resource elements.
  • Previous agency experience is preferred but not required for this role.


TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Exposure to media planning and buying software tools Freewheel/Strata, Nielsen, GfK MRI, Scarborough, SRDS, Kantar, Google/Meta Platforms, and others
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Keynote and PowerPoint

Location:

Given the nature of this role and the client assigned to this position being located in Nashville, we are only considering candidates that currently live in or wish to relocate to Nashville, TN, in the near future (first 90 days of employment).
