Field Technician
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Test HMA (Hot Mixed Asphalt) for mix properties and adherence to specifications, at our plants and in the field on job sites.
- Report to paving worksites to perform asphalt compaction testing.
- Work independently with a paving crew sampling and cutting cores in placed asphalt to test for density.
- Testing for liquid content, specific gravity, compaction, gradation and temperature.
- Test aggregates for gradation and consensus properties.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Work Activities include:
- Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Providing information to the supervisor, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email, or in person.
Job Requirements:
- Valid driver s license and satisfactory driving record required.
- Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crews can operate at normal efficiency level.
- Attitude/Cooperation, must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and public.
- Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work may be required.
- Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting.
Work Environment:
- Physical ability to work under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-10 hours.
- May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather.
- May be exposed to vehicular traffic and must follow all MOT procedures.
Safety:
- Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition. Personal Protective Gear Provided, with exception to work boots.
- Hired employees will receive safety training and hence forth must always maintain the safety standards outlined within the company safety program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HMA Plant, Level I
- HMA Plan, Level II
Compensation and Benefits:

Preplacement Requirements:
Potential candidates must be willing to submit to a company background check and preplacement drug analysis to be considered for hire.
