We focus on content mastery, teaching a holistic curriculum, and inspiring students to believe in their brilliance. Role Description:

We're hiring for both part-time or full-time teaching roles for Athens Debate. We have summer teaching roles in the months of June, July, and August. And then year-round teaching roles from the end of August to June. We would be happy to hire for full-time roles, but are also happy to hire for part-time. We're flexible. Teachers will be responsible for:


  • Teaching classes (elementary, middle, and high school students)
  • Providing feedback for students
  • Leading classroom discussions
  • Helping prepare students for tournament participation
  • Following lesson plans (lessons will be provided by Athens leadership)


Summer Teacher: Teach camps Monday through Friday from 8am to 3pm.


Year Round Teacher: We've got a lot of different classes with different times, we'll go over schedule options with you.


Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching debate
  • Strong understanding of professionalism
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively train students in debate and public speaking
  • Passion for fostering critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in debate or public speaking competitions is a plus
  • Knowledge of different speech and debate formats and styles
  • Responds well to professional feedback and instruction
  • Enjoys working with kids
  • Good energy


Compensation:

We pay at the very top of the market. Compensation ranges between $30 and $65 an hour.
