Employees learn to monitor inmate behavior, perform counts, conduct inspections of quarters, conduct scheduled and unscheduled searches. Employees in this class do not perform any duties requiring law enforcement training and certification (e.g., assignments requiring firearms certification). Work is performed under close supervision from a higher-level Correctional Security Guard, Senior or APOSTC Certified Correctional Officer assigned to a higher classification following established standards and guidelines.
