**Position Summary:**

*The primary focus of this role is supplier market testing, resourcing projects, supporting quoting and sourcing as needed, processing purchase orders, closing disputed Supplier DMNs and the resolution of invoice discrepancies. The analysis and follow up of your data ensuring all program gate reviews and deliverables are achieved meeting or exceeding the required program financial targets and timing supporting flawless program launches. This position will require an understanding of supplier cost breakdowns and a general understanding of purchasing policies, procedures and purchasing related laws, agency, legal and ethical obligations*

**Primary Responsibilities:**

* Support the development of commodity strategies working cross functionally with Manufacturing, Sales and Engineering as needed.

* Understand key market dynamics and commodity trends to validate cost competitiveness.

* Identify, implement cost savings and VAVE projects in collaboration with Supply Chain, Operations and Engineering involvement.

* Manage supply base with respect to their ability to provide products and services in accordance with Cooper Standards business requirements, cost parameters, terms and conditions or other agreements.

* Effectively execute market testing and the successful supplier resourcing activates in line with Commodity Strategies.

* Develop and sustain relationships with key internal and external customers.

* Point person supporting the resolution of critical supply chain and/or production issues while maintaining supplier relationships.

* Maintain commercial documents as needed.

**Education and Qualifications:**

* 3+ years relevant experience.

* Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing or related field.

* Prior experience leading negotiations.

* Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems seeking guidance when needed.

* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

* Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

* Experience working in a diverse or cross-functional team.

* Manufacturing or technical knowledge (preferred).

**Work Environment/Work Conditions:**

* Professional Office Environment

* Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor

* Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required

* Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
