Melmark is a nonprofit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders.

Program Coordinator Overview

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the program room under the direction of the Director of the Adult Day Community Program. The Program Coordinator serves as a Homeroom Instructor and also designs Program room programs, evaluates abilities, and recommends goals for each individual's ISP. The Program Coordinator is responsible for assuring Instructors and Program Room Assistants of the program are trained in carrying out Ch.2380 regulations, as they apply to the successful operations of the program.

Schedule and Salary Information

  • Schedule: Monday- Friday 8a-4p
  • Starting Salary: $45,240.00 (+) based on years of experience


Requirements
  • An associate's degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred and 4 years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities preferred
  • Valid US. drivers license
  • Must have one of the followingwithin 120 days of hire if hired after 11/1/18: Hold a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential from the Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE); or Have been awarded a Basic Employment Services Certificate of Achievement or a Professional Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services from an Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) organizational member that has ACRE-approved training.
  • Prefer at least (3) years experience with specialized populations

  • Performs day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Coordinates, supervises and participates in Program room activities
  • Presents written reports clearly, concisely, timely and professionally.
  • Develops goals that are individualized and based on choice.
  • Develops and oversees community access activities for assigned program area, and ensures all individuals have regular opportunities for community access.
