Job Title Business Application Support Specialist Location Telecommute **Hiring Range: $4,500 - $7,000 Monthly**

**Business Application Support Specialist** for NDIT and other state agencies. **Summary of Work:**

The **Business Application Support Specialist** will provide support and administration to North Dakota IT healthcare business applications. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between the IT department and Department of Health (DOH) to align system design with operational processes. The **Business Application Support Specialist** must possess strong research and data-gathering abilities with the ability to interpret data to develop and implement policies, procedures, or solutions in a healthcare setting. The **Business Application Support Specialist** will ensure that the software build meets organizational goals and external mandates such as HIPAA and Meaningful Use. The **Business Application Support Specialist** will also need to have strong communication skills in responding to customer inquires as well as communication priorities and issues to stakeholders.

**Duties and Tasks**

* Maintain strong technical knowledge and understand of the IT healthcare business applications.

* Identify, analyze, and gather business requirements and develop technical specifications.

* Assist with after hours maintenance activities and participate in on call rotation.

* Monitor system effectiveness and/or performance to determine if there are any potential problems, report critical findings to peers and/or manager and resolve somewhat complex problems.

* Develop and maintain test scripts to reflect proposed workflow solutions.

* Review and test changes, interfaces, data conversion, enhancements, and each new release as assigned.

* Provide on-site support for application during implementation and upgrades.

* Monitor, coordinate and resolve incidents and/or changes request by customers.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

* Be able to participate in an on call rotation 24/7 when scheduled.

One of the following:

* **Bachelors degree** in Network Systems, Computer Science, or Data Systems Design and **one year of** experience in the evaluation and analyses healthcare applications

* **Associates Degree** in Network Systems, Computer Science, or Data Systems Design and **Three year of** experience in the evaluation and analyses healthcare applications

* **Five years of** experience in the evaluation and analyses healthcare applications

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, C#, SAS, SQL)

* Knowledge of Power BI

* knowledge HL7 Messaging
