Business Development Representative


Job Details

Retail Strategies, a Best Places to Work and Fastest Growing Company, is looking for an Outside Business Development Representative to help grow our revenue to the next level. The ideal candidate should be excited by selling into new markets, new services lines and products, strategizing next steps, negotiating complex deals and beating the competition in head-to-head opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Work within a defined territory to bring in new Client cities
  • Engage with Municipalities, Chambers of Commerce, Mayors, and other Economic Development agencies
  • Fully understand and have the ability to sell multiple product lines
  • Track all deals from initial interaction to completion in Company customer relationship management (CRM) tool
  • Meet and exceed defined sales goal per product line
  • Leverage innovation to maximize revenue of traditional and digital assets and products
  • Monitor changes in the industry and leverage them for business opportunities
  • Participate in forums to keep abreast of new changes in the industry and practices
  • Promote positive relationships with prospects and partners to understand their needs


Travel Requirement:

  • Approximately 2 weeks out of each month; flexible depending on schedule


Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven ability to exceed sales goals
  • 3+ years of relevant sales experience; background with municipalities, economic development corporations, or chambers is a plus
  • Strength in problem solving, issue resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Self-driven and has the desire to exceed expectations
  • Public speaking experience
