JOB SUMMARY
Perform general maintenance in and around the plant. This is a multi-craft position and requires knowledge of various building trades, familiarity with machine operations and construction, welding, and 480v electric circuits, as well as AC and DC control circuits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Diversified work includes the maintenance and repair of mechanical and building equipment such as conveyors, fans, furnaces, saws, compressors, etc., building repair, machinery installation, small construction projects, and changes to services. Works from verbal or written instructions, sketches, and repair requests.
Skill Requirements:
Ability to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available. Computer literate. Must understand operation of compressors, dryers, pumps, water systems, sanitary systems, sprinklers, fuel systems, heating units, and plant machinery. Must be able to troubleshoot PLC s using a program printout, be able to edit and download /monitor programs.
Ideally RS Logics 500 and 5000 series.
Environmental Requirements:
Ability to work in a noisy environment and under hot or cold conditions.
REQUIRED PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection when specified. Electrical safety equipment, fall protection, hard hats as required.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED
Uses a variety of hand and power tools, test and inspection precision gauges, multimeters, laptop computers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two-year building trades or technical degree and 5 years experience with PLC, 3-phase electrical, mechanical, and welding skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to work 10 hour shifts
Ability to reach and bend
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to drive a forklift and operate power equipment
Ability to wear respiratory protective equipment
