Job Description Summary:

This individual is responsible for janitorial and routine maintenance and minor repairs on Ozark Center real property and equipment. The Maintenance Assistant is a support level person responsible for delivery of a full range of support services to maintain our facilities in order to serve individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance abuse and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. They are primarily responsible for facilitating an environment conducive to providing the maximum level of independent functioning of the clients served and demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. They will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. They will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance and repairs on Center owned or controlled facilities.
  • Provides basic grounds and landscaping maintenance and improvements for exterior of Center facilities.
  • Performs and/or coordinates move of furniture, supplies, equipment and material, as needed, within and for Center facilities.
  • Responsible for walkway and entryway snow and ice removal.
  • Responsible for general upkeep of all facilities in relationship to painting, minor construction, small floor repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Participate in an on-call maintenance rotation assigned by Supervisor.


Physical Requirements:
  • May require some evening or weekend work.
  • Travel to all Center facilities as needed.
  • Prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires good general health and stamina to perform moderately heavy work tasks.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient for general maintenance work.
  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours.
  • TB test upon hire.
