Summary

This position is location in Shreveport, Louisiana. The position is responsible for leadership over the parts distribution, planning and management procedures. The Assistant Manager will build, establish and drive the team tasks that includes supervising all daily activities, analyzing relevant data, formulating reports, parts ordering and parts distribution to the various departments within the Vehicle Processing Center.

Responsibilities

  • Complete internal and external analyses, set and procurement strategy and be the point person for all strategy implementation and planning. This role will work cross functionally with various internal departments (internal and external teams) and externally with HQ, and local suppliers and Customers.
  • Provide overall leadership, management, accountability and direction to all functional departments and team members in the Parts Operations & transportation towards the accomplishment of goals and objectives.
  • Engage in daily operations activities including problem resolution, provide regular daily, weekly and monthly reports measuring department performance against objectives/plan. Perform analysis and prepare recommendations/countermeasures when performance does not meet objective or at the request of executive management and customers
  • Using current inventory counts and processing needs, determine any parts issues that may arise.
  • Report any parts shortages to management. Maintain accuracy of the inventory counts.
  • Lead the teams in developing, analyzing and maintaining the strategic inventory, demand, sales and supplier metrics in support of strategic objectives. Quantifiable demand calculation, forecasting methodologies, lead time, performance are all inputs to this process.
  • Ensure that Department Operating Procedures, Processes and Manuals are relevant and up to date.
  • Coordinate with the parts suppliers to arrange proper deliveries to eliminate any future parts shortages.
  • Responsible for parts that are not accounted for after receiving into inventory.
  • Responsible for recording and communicating parts that are damaged, missing or defected.
  • Maintain open dialogue with other department to coordinate activities and improve performance and productivity
  • Oversee the end of month physical counting of the inventory.
  • Record the physical counts and run comparisons to the suppliers AMOS inventory management system.
  • Reconcile any variations between the physical counts and the AMOS inventory counts by analyzing the install records


Qualifications

  • Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills preferred
  • Advanced PC skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database management required
  • SAP experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to logically and systematically work through problems
  • Must possess positive interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse people in multiple cross functional departments, teams and customers
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Flexible schedule to work extended hours, weekends as needed
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and conflict management skills

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 5-8 yrs direct transportation, logistics, supply chair experience required; 8-12yrs experience preferred.
  • 2-5 years supervisory experience required
  • Forklift and pallet jack trained
