The Corporate Rental Manager is responsible for leading the advancement of the rental division, ensuring profitable operations, and delivering exceptional customer service. This person will be responsible for overseeing the rental program for both of our operating companies, Vermeer Texas-Louisiana and Compact Construction Equipment. The Rental Manager will be involved in strategic planning and business development to drive the growth and efficiency of the division. This position is multifaceted and involves balancing operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, staff management, and financial oversight. It is essential that this candidate understands the relationship between Rental, Equipment Sales, Parts, and Service, and appreciates their interdependence.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Strategy & Financial Focus
- Lead the Rental Division in executing the strategy to profitably increase market share, expand business relationships, meet growth expectations, and deliver expected bottom-line return.
- Define key business drivers, metrics, and identify necessary resources for achievement.
- Implement effective pricing strategies and monitor market trends to remain competitive.
- Prepare and manage the rental division's budget, financial reports, capex planning and forecasts.
Rental Operational Excellence & Asset Management
- Ensure division processes and metrics drive team behaviors and actions that contribute to a positive customer experience.
- Analyze and review all assets to determine utilization, financial return, and overall performance.
- Improve return on assets and ensure new assets meet benchmarks.
- Manage rental fleet utilization and maximize useful economic life to determine the best window for retirement and remarketing.
- Create, update, and maintain division policies and procedures to achieve goals for customer satisfaction, revenue, cost control, and safety.
- Maintain excellent relationships and reputation with Vermeer, Bobcat, and key suppliers for the Rental Division.
- Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained, improved, and managed in such a manner as to support excellent operational capability, performance, and reputation.
- Oversee the rental operation across multiple locations, ensuring equipment availability, reliability, and compliance with safety standards.
Culture, Values and Collaboration
- Drive a culture based on integrity, exceptional customer service, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Engage with the EOC senior leadership team to develop cross-divisional strategies to better serve our customers.
- Lead, train, and mentor the rental team. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure Rental Division compliance with all contracts, obligations, laws, and regulations in such a manner that EOC s best interests are served and protected.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in equipment rental or related industry, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a profitable rental operation with a track record of achieving or exceeding business targets.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in rental software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This role requires a combination of office work and field visits to various dealership locations and client sites. Estimated travel to be 30%.
