Position Summary:

The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice in the Collegeof Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado isseeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor.

Job Duties:

This position has a workloaddistribution of 60% teaching (3-3 teaching load), 20% professional activity,and 20% service. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstratepotential for teaching excellence in traditional and online settings, developingand maintaining an active research agenda, and participating in department,college, and community service activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, or a closelyrelated field is expected. ABDs will be considered. The ability to teach both undergraduate and graduatelevel classes is expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given toapplicants with research and teaching interests in courts,policing, cybercrime, victim studies, diversityand ethics in criminal justice, and applied analysis for criminal justice. Thedesired applicant will have potential to teach both online and in-personuniversity-level classes, possess membership in professional organizations, demonstratepotential in research and/or grant writing, and highlight evidence of service.In addition, the candidate must highlight evidence of diversity in theirteaching practices. Each of the items above should be identified in theapplicant's cover letter. A research statement should also be included toidentify the applicant's research agenda they wish to implement as an AssistantProfessor. This includes potential for grant activity, publications, or serviceto the field.
