Urban 42 serves breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, small plates, ice cream and desserts, as well as beverages from Starbucks or cocktails.

**The Role**

The Banquet Captain is responsible for training and directing the banquet staff in servicing and all banquet activities in order to ensure a successful function and repeat business.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

* Supervise food and beverage service throughout banquet functions to ensure quality service and product quality.

* Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all banquet functions including, but not limited to, breakfast, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, etc.

* Participate in department meetings

* Process banquet checks accurately and efficiently for payment

* Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service

* Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations

* Remain professional in appearance and conduct at all times.

* Communicate with management issues regarding safety and service in a timely manner.

* Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest question and/or concerns.

* Understand and respond to customers needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

**Required Skills and Experience**

* Previous banquet experience preferred but not required.

* High level of organization and time management skills

* Excellent guest service skills

* Highly energetic and motivated individual

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essential

* Strong problem-solving skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment

* Ability to shift and manage multiple priorities

* Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds, unassisted.
