CES Ephrata, Pennsylvania Minimum Experience **Entry-level** POSITION SUMMARY: Cleans and restores interior of buildings, homes, and contents damaged by fire, smoke, water, or sewage, and other damage-related causes by performing the following duties. Restoration and cleaning can take place either on-site or transported to Compleat Restorations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Receive work order and schedules from job leader or manager.

* Load supplies/equipment into vehicles at start of shift, unload at end of the day, clean and return materials and equipment to proper storage areas.

* Drive van equipped with cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies to work site.

* Perform carpet cleaning, upholstery, floors, walls, ceilings, draperies, windows, and room contents to remove effects of smoke and water damage such as dirt, soot, stains, mildew, and excess water and moisture.

* Provide exceptional customer service, treat property and contents with respect and care, and bring any issues or customer concerns to the job leader.

* Follow proper safety practices, wear personal protective equipment when appropriate (gloves, respirators, face shield, etc) while working.

* Maintain clean and organized vehicle, equipment, and jobsite.

* Work overtime as needed (evenings and weekends). When possible, your manager will try to give you 24-hr notification or check employee availability.

* Must serve on the Emergency On-call rotation as scheduled and as needed.

* Must always answer and keep cell phone with you and charged.

* Inspect own work to ensure conformance to standards.

* Attend training sessions.

* Learn about fire, smoke, and water damage restoration.

* Maintain a neat, professional appearance.

* Act professionally on jobsites and in the shop, including any time a company logoed uniform item is worn.

* Adheres to Compleats Core Values.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

* Assist in placing air movers and dehumidifiers in proper room locations to remove moisture from carpet, upholstery, and air.

* Assist with demo when needed.

* Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Valid drivers license with clean MVR subject to background check and access to dependable transportation.

* Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, carry equipment up/down stairs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Previous experience and/or certifications in the disaster restoration industry.

Attention/Concentration: Must be very detail oriented.

Problem Solving, Reasoning & Creative Thinking: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.

Variety & change: Must be able to adapt to new environments and often work in unpleasant working conditions, use portable facilities. Ability to cope with emergency tasks and last-minute changes to daily schedule.

Language: Reading, Writing & Speaking: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and notes. Ability to write simple notes and summaries. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.

Mathematics: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of US money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

EQUIPMENT USAGE REQUIREMENTS: MACHINES, EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, SOFTWARE: To perform the essential duties of the position, use of the following machines, equipment, tools, and software is customarily required:

Machinery/Equipment: company vehicles, fans/dehumidifiers, odor control equipment

Tools: basic demo tools

Software: job processing and inventory programs

The employee may frequently be required to wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, goggles or safety glasses, Tyvek suits, gloves, hard hats, etc. The employee may also need to be fitted for respirator use, and a respirator may be required under certain work conditions.

* STANDING is regularly required for 8-hr shifts.

* STOOPING/KNEELING/CROUCHING/CRAWLING is done regularly.

* IMMERSING hands in water is done frequently.

VISUAL REQUIREMENTS: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distant vision.
