Full-Time, Non-Union, Non-Exempt Position

$16.50 per hour, 40 hours per week

Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

BASIC FUNCTION OF OPERTAION WORKER:

The Operation Worker will be participating in operational tasks required to produce top quality hydroponic and organic produce and is responsible for the planting, transplanting, harvesting, packing and proper storage of leafy greens and other plants. Teamwork is crucial in this position and flexibility to perform a wide range of jobs. Special attention must be paid to maintaining a clean and pest free work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF OPERATION WORKER:

  • Works closely with the Lead Grower Specialist in the preparation, seeding and maintenance of propagation trays and growing channel.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment at all times.
  • Transplanting, harvesting, labeling, recording and maintaining information about the plants and their growth, preparing plants for packaging, inspecting plants to assess quality.
  • Observing the greenhouse conditions to ensure conditions are suitable and irrigation systems are running smoothly; reports issues to the Lead Grower Specialist.
  • Attend training as required.
  • Application of fungicides as directed by Lead Grower Specialist.
  • Ensure quality control of all aspects of the growing cycle.
  • Works closely with Lead Grower Specialist to understand crop planning, scheduling and establish production priorities.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Attend company meetings as required.


Requirements

REQUIREMENTS OF OPERATION WORKER:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Eager to learn the art of hydroponics and its processes.

Experience:

Experience of direct growing within a greenhouse operation and a distribution center, a plus.

Job Skills:

High energy level required

Problem Solving/Conflict Resolution

Strong oral and written skills
