POSITION SUMMARY


The Site Surveyor will be involved with the process of helping customers go solar. Will assist with the installation process by conducting physical on-site assessments and record site specifics. Will evaluate client's homes, get into the attic to look at roof structure, evaluate existing electrical, note any structural concerns and other issues, measure the pitch and different parameters of the roof, gather general electrical and construction information, and take numerous pictures for our design engineers. Will take photos of power meters, breaker boxes, and attics to see the size of trusses. Will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations.


EXAMPLES OF WORK


  • Measures the perimeter of roof faces and prepares quick sketches of roof faces with directional (North, South, East, West) labels.
  • Uploads site survey analysis, collects data, and photos of work performed each day.
  • Completes paper and digital site assessment sheets.
  • Manages their own schedule to ensure that all necessary tasks are followed through with minimal outside management oversight.
  • Communicates with our corporate office staff effectively and efficiently.
  • Gathers all necessary information to design a solar project.
  • Documents site condition, electrical service, roof condition and structural integrity
  • Manages schedules to complete time-sensitive tasks daily.
  • Conducts a solar site assessment for prospective customers using a smartphone and/or drone to take images of roofs and trees, as well as electrical equipment, attics, roofs, and trees.
  • Coordinates remotely with the field operations lead daily.
  • Complies with all city regulations and adheres to all safety requirements and regulations.
  • Provides photos for the preparation of permit ready documents needed to facilitate the installation of solar photovoltaic systems.
  • Effectively and successfully communicates with customers during the initial face to face greeting and/or on the phone conversation.
  • Conducts a physical site survey using a variety of company provided tools and equipment including measuring devices, hand tools, ladders, personal protective equipment, etc.
  • Attends mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.


Requirements


  • Must have a clean background record/clean driving record/drug free (pre-employment background check and drug test required)
  • The ability to work alone and manage day to day task in a professional manner.
  • Must be willing to work in attics and crawl spaces, when necessary.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Willingness to travel overnight.
