Position Summary

We are looking for a talented and experienced individual to join our growing team as our Analytical Senior Scientist or Scientist. This scientist will be responsible for designing, running, and reporting experiments related to the small molecule chemistry, degradation pathways, characterization, and stabilization techniques. The selected candidate will be screening formulations to characterize solubility and stability of drug candidates for ophthalmic and injectable drug products.


Role And Responsibilities

  • strong scientific acumen, with ability to solve problems via independent planning, design, execution, and interpretation of experiments.

analytical equipment including HPLC-UV, LC-MS.

  • experimental protocols and write up data for inclusion in formal reports of experimental results.
  • and qualify analytical methods for drug product prototypes.
  • and conduct experiments to characterize ophthalmic and parenteral formulations, drug delivery systems, and drug-eluting formulations, including but not limited to in vitro release profile, solubility, loading capacity, degradation, and stability. Formulations may include solutions, lyophilized products, sterile injectable suspensions, etc.
  • and review product development reports and related documents.

San Diego, CA

This position is a full-time position that is based at our laboratory.


Compensation

$95k-$130k

No relocation package offered for this role


Key Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor s in Chemistry or related technical field; MS and/or PhD preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 4+ years experience in corporate environment with early-stage formulation development and analytical development of small molecules.
  • Minimum 4+ years analytical experience with HPLC-UV and/or LC-MS.
  • Experience in performing sample preparation and analytical characterization of early phase formulation/process development of sterile dosage forms for small molecules.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the principles of physical/organic chemistry, physical pharmacy & materials science to solving practical pharmaceutical development problems.
  • Demonstrated excellence in collaborating on design of and conduct of experiments and analyzing data
