**POSITION SUMMARY**

The Buyer is responsible for acquiring materials and services in support of the IoT organization. The core responsibilities are to validate material supply plans, execute purchase orders with suppliers, and expedite where necessary. The Buyer/Planner will coordinate purchasing activities with commodity management, planning, logistics, and engineering departments to acquire parts in a cost-effective and timely manner.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Coordinate purchasing activities with commodity management, planning, logistics, and engineering departments to acquire parts in a cost-effective and timely manner

* Validate material supply plans, execute, and manage purchase orders with suppliers, and expedite where necessary

* Work with suppliers to ensure expeditious commitment to delivery dates

* Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders, and requests for quotes to suppliers

* Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity

* Participate in maximizing the procurement teams' efficiency, maximizing execution of Open Orders, expediting priority orders, maintaining part parameters

* Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g., materials, components, equipment, and services)

* Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive. May recommend cost-saving proposals

**DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

* BS Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or other related field.

* Solid communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills are essential to this role's effectiveness

* Attention to detail

* Extremely motivated to learn and be a hands on contributor

**EDUCATION**

Bachelors or equivalent experience
