Terrain Park Attendant


Job Details

**Job Purpose:**

Assists in carrying out design plans for the Terrain Park layout that includes building take-offs, landings, etc. Perform constant care and maintenance of jumps and rails and enforces safety regulations by keeping guests and staff from using features that are considered unsafe. Acts as host in regard to crowd supervision, safety awareness education, freestyle terrain etiquette and guest relations.

**Essential Functions/Physical Demands:**

* Works 8-10 hours per day, often for 6 consecutive days during winter season, November through April, including weekends and holidays

* More than 75% of shift is working outdoors, in extreme weather conditions and temperatures

* Frequent standing while performing manual labor, normally for an entire shift

* Occasional lifting and carrying of more than 60 lbs.; more with assistance

* Frequent stooping, bending at neck and waist, reaching, grasping, pulling and pushing, shoveling snow and ice from grounds and other surfaces

* Monitoring and maintaining terrain features by visual inspection and testing according to company policy.

**Experience/Training/Education:**

**Required:**

* Must pass a pre-employment snowboarding skill test

* May be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical

**Desired:**

* Prior Terrain Park/Freestyle experience

**Knowledge/skills/abilities:**

Perform guest relations and assisting ski patrol in accident situations. Ensure that mountain operations/ski patrol are aware of terrain park opening/closing Conducting rider counts ' it is important for terrain parks to operate based on volume ' and documenting figures several times a day . Integrate terrain park users into FLC lessons. Have the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with guests, staff and management. Have the ability to comply with policies and procedures; ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks.

**Environmental Elements:**

Work may be strenuous at times and performed during inclement weather and on challenging terrain. The temperature can range from well below freezing to in excess of 80 degrees Fahrenheit with high winds, snow, rain, and dense fog and intense sun. The terrain is often on uneven and icy ground. Protective equipment is strongly recommended including full sun protection, adequate clothing for conditions and expected conditions.
