POSITION: Security Monitor
EFFECTIVE DATE: January 23, 2024 or as soon as criminal history is cleared
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least five years of public safety experience in the State of New Jersey
- Knowledge of school district community and operations.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Demonstrates ability to work successfully with students and adults
- Spanish speaking preferred
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and School Business Administrator or Designee
JOB GOAL: To provide for the safety and security of District students and staff and provide traffic direction and control.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide for the physical safety and security of the school building by securing and monitoring entrances and exits
- Directs traffic in District owned parking lots
- Works collaboratively with local law enforcement officers
- Immediately notify the principal or other building administrator of hazardous conditions in and around the school building and work to resolve them immediately
- Respond to emergency situations
- Monitor and clearly communicate on portable radio system
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month, Non-Unit Position
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with New Jersey State law and the provisions of the board's policy on evaluation.
