**Job Description:**

Camp Alice Chester offers both resident and day camp to Girl Scouts ages 5-17. Campers will discover their summer self as they explore a wide range of camp activities including, hiking, archery, swimming, boating, climbing the rock wall, games, crafts and gathering with their Girl Scout sisters to sing around the campfire. Your role will have an impact on girls lives as they create memories to last a lifetime.

Located in East Troy, WI , Camp Alice Chester is a beautiful, wooded acreage located on Booth Lake.

**Position Summary:** Maintain and enforce safe waterfront practices while implementing waterfront activities. Assist in the supervision of campers, staff, and volunteers during waterfront activity times. Be an active participant in the girls experience and camp community. Uphold all camp policies, procedures, and safety standards for the wellbeing of staff and campers.

**Seasonal position starting May 31, 2022 and ending August 21, 2022. Weekly salary of $450 plus room and board. Residency at camp is a requirement of this lifeguard position.**

**Major Accountabilities:**

* Consistently supervise campers and other waterfront attendees in structured and unstructured activities.

* Assist in maintaining the health and safety of all campers.

* Lead, supervise, or teach waterfront activities.

* Lifeguards in residence will assist in units and camp community.

* Maintain an organized and clean facility, equipment, and supplies; report needed repairs.

* Assist in the opening, closing, and daily cleaning of the waterfront.

* Create a positive rapport with all campers, and their parents.

* Help campers follow directions and rules.

* Maintain a safe work environment.

* Implement emergency procedures through regular practice of drills and in-service training.

* Maintain and assure appropriate adult to girl ratios with groups.

* Effectively communicate instructions, issues, and needs with campers, staff, and supervisors.

* Cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipment.

* Keep records and return any required paperwork on time.

* Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and creative to situations.

* Assist with opening and closing of camp for the season.

* Potentially accompanying girls on adventure trips.

* Other duties as assigned.
