The Research Associate will be trained to perform focal ischemic stroke studies. Incumbent will be primarily responsible for performing middle cerebral artery occlusion in rats and also perform behavioral tests, perfusion-fixation of brains, harvest brain material and data tabulation and analysis.
Incumbent will plan organize, and conduct highly independent research upon approval of the Principal Investigator. Design, test and evaluate methods and protocols for research projects. Analyze, summarize and organize collected data and together with Principal Investigator, may publish results of investigators in professional journals. Purchase and/or recommend purchase of new equipment for research projects. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, responsible for the scientific operations of the laboratory; may train and supervise junior level staff members.
The position level will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate.
