LHH is recruiting for a Controller role with our privately owned construction client in Gilbert, Arizona! You are an excellent match for the position if you have expert-level experience with job costing and percentage of completion or work in progress, along with sufficient Sage 300 skills. As a Controller, you'll manage a small team while still being very hands-on with the day to day accounting operations and month end functions, along with strategy and process improvement-related responsibilities.


Base compensation is up to $140k for the perfect fit, along with PTO, a 401k match and medical/dental/vision options.


Key Job Functions:

  • Direct financial decisions by creating and administering policies and procedures and contributing to growth strategies
  • Support analytical, planning and cost control efforts across the whole organization
  • Complete high-level preparation, review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, job costing and percentage of completion (POC) billing
  • Prepare financial statements and reports and assist with annual budgeting, forecasting and planning initiatives
  • Manage fixed assets process, including booking, disposals, depreciation schedules and reconciliations
  • Spearhead yearly audit requests, along with various strategic and process improvement functions


Job Criteria:

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance
  • Must have strong job costing and POC/WIP accounting experience
  • Must have at least 3 years of accounting leadership experience
  • Proficiency in Sage 300 required, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exceptional analysis, reconciliation and financial reporting skills
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
