Description

Forest Highlands Golf Club is looking for a few great babysitters for our 2024 Season beginning in May

In this position you will conduct babysitting in a mature and service oriented manner. You will be punctual and dependable and be able to communicate well both the parents/guardians and the recreation department while providing safe and fun babysitting skills for our members and their children.

Some of the tasks you will be doing are: (not an all-inclusive list)

  • Oversee the safety and well-being of all children
  • Adhere to all schedules laid out by Parents, Guardians or Educators
  • Provide meals at scheduled times
  • Engage children in healthy educational and developmental activities
  • Conduct yourself as a person of authority and worth
  • Keep a safe and clean care environment
  • Be punctual and on occasion stay late to help with unforeseen issues
  • Alert the parents immediately if there are any issues at home
  • Assist children with any school projects that may be required
  • Engage children with fun activities, such as games, puzzles or pretend play both indoors and outdoors
  • Administer any medicines required
  • Answer incoming phone calls and take messages for the family


Overall you must have Awareness of safety and risk environment, be able to complete any other tasks necessary to better serve the members of the club, and always practice good judgement when caring for people, animals, or material items.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Two years of High School or High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (opportunities to obtain these are available through Forest Highlands upon being hired).
  • Current Red Cross Advanced Child Care certification (must be completed prior to working with children).
  • Current Red Cross Water Safety for Parents & Caregivers (must be completed prior to working with children).
  • Experience caring for others
  • Clean background check
  • Ability to perform all activities with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of babysitting, country club and golf course operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Organized, able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Must be reliable.

Preferred Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1 to 3 years of daycare, babysitting/nanny experience in a private club; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to handle all safety and concerns with children
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • CPR/First Aid and AED certified
  • Exceptional skills in caregiving and being conscious of hygiene.


Working Conditions:
  • While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with arms and hands.
  • The employee often is required to walk, stand, talk or hear, handle, feel or operate objects.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30lbs occasionally.
  • The employee will occasionally be required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Moderate exposure to heat, working outdoors, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards. Exposure to pollens and dust
  • Noise level is moderately quiet
  • Work extended hours during golf and holiday season
  • Work weekends and holidays
