About the Role

The Field Application Scientist at CytoTronics will be responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction and building customer relationships and advocacy while providing technical support for all CytoTronics solutions, platforms, instruments, and software. You will serve as a technical expert and consultant to both internal teams and external customers, providing comprehensive support for the implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of our products. This role requires a deep understanding of scientific principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams.

This role will report to the Chief Business Officer and can be remote (home office on the US West Coast, access to offices with our lead investors LYFE Capital and ANZU Partners) or based in our office in Boston s Southend.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive scientific and technical support to customers through virtual and on-site visits, ensuring ongoing success with CytoTronics products.
  • Work closely with the sales team to coordinate field visits, qualify demos, and brainstorm strategies to optimize customer engagement and satisfaction. The PIXEL system is ideal for remote demos and qualifications. In fact, our sales model relies on not needing to be onsite for pre-sales activities. Your technical expertise will be key to translating the evaluation towards a purchase and then to scale up from there.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers through proactive and regular communication and swift issue resolution.
  • Support potential high-value customer pre-sales situations by leading presentations, seminars, and workshops on CytoTronics offerings, and conducting AWS/software and PIXEL system demonstrations to help secure new customers in drug discovery applications (Neuroscience, Oncology, Cardiac, Inflammatory).
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of customer applications; communicate novel use cases and publications to internal teams.
  • Act as the voice-of-customer by relaying valuable customer feedback and experiences with competitor s products to drive product improvements.
  • Assist in the creation and review of technical documentation including application notes, protocols, educational material, and presentations.
  • Participate in testing, implementing, and promoting software updates and product launches.
  • Perform administrative duties such as responding to customer emails, submitting travel expenses, and updating CRM software with recent customer interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent experience preferred; MS with minimum 3 years of experience; BA/BS with 5 years of experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Genetics.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with relevant High Content Screening (HCS, Imaging) or MEA (micro-electronic array) cell-based analytical technologies.
  • Hands-on proficiency with common molecular biology bench techniques required; cell culture, cell-sorting, and flow cytometry experience is also valuable.
  • 3+ years of customer-facing experience.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and systematic troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office applications and prior experience with CRM software.

Target Markets and Applications where you bring experience and expertise could include:

  • Computational AI/ML ventures (who also have in-vitro cell-based wet labs)

The people that we seek have:

  • An openness to other ideas, approaches, and methods.
  • Failures that exposed learning moments and insights to build upon
