**Responsibilities and Qualifications for** **Buyer:** * Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones

* Be able to travel in areas across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia meeting with existing and new suppliers.

* Successfully manage a large supplier base, negotiating improved supplier terms and pricing

* Support company in the buying of industrial hardwood .

* Conduct market research and report on movements in price and changes in terms being offered

* Manage supplier relationships including quality and supply issues, improving supplier performance, and building successful supply chain partnerships

* Experience in knowledge of Low-grade and High-grade hardwood preferred.

* 3+ years Industrial buying experience or a related field.

* Extensive knowledge of purchasing within a manufacturing environment

* Proven history of successful supplier negotiation

* Able to demonstrate continuous improvement through purchasing processes

* First-rate time management and organizational skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure

* Provide ongoing office administrative support to our Youngstown Branch on various office and purchasing duties.

* Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need information regarding vendors, products, deliveries, etc.

* Written and verbal communication with internal staff, business leaders and external suppliers

* Advanced knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office Suite

* Strong familiarity with office communication tools, such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams etc.

* Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain organizational methods that others can follow

* Highly dependable and trustworthy

* Extremely effective communication skills with a talent for operating across different levels of an organization

* Attention to detail and the ability to complete job duties with high degree of accuracy.

* Self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently, with minimal supervision.

* Flexible in work schedule, when required.

* Other duties, as assigned and requested by management.
