**About the Position:**
Brooklyn Prospect Charter School is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Custodian to join our Windsor Terrace Campus! This is an ideal position for someone who is excited about the charter movement and has a working background in educational settings. Reporting to the Building Manager, the Custodian will help maintain a clean, disinfected and safe learning environment for all our students, staff and faculty.
This position is currently scheduled as an afternoon to night shift (arriving approximately 2/3 pm and ending approximately 11 pm/12 am)

**Job Responsibilities:**
Cleanliness and Maintenance
* Maintain cleanliness of exterior and interior building grounds
* Clean building floors by sweeping and mopping daily, including all classrooms, offices, bathrooms, stairs, and common areas (cafeteria, gym)
* Empty all trash receptacles and sanitary receptacles throughout the building; replace bags as needed
* Assess and stock bathrooms; ensure sinks, urinals and toilets are cleaned daily; soap and paper goods are replenished daily
Advanced Cleaning and Disinfecting [COVID-19]
* Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly throughout the day
* In addition to regular cleaning, buildings will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at least once per week using an electrostatic spray.
* Change air purifier filters as needed
* Ensure spaces are fully stocked with disinfectant, soap, paper towels, toilet paper and all other required cleaning supplies.
* Use PPE materials to clean all spaces.
Building & Facilities
* Perform necessary repairs to the facility as assigned by the Building Manager
* Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc
* Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, walkways, steps and entrances to all doors
* Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors
* Assist with mowing the lawn and trimming shrubbery
* Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure building when facility is not in use; inform the Building Manager of any abnormal building conditions
* Move and/or carry items up to 50 lbs
General
* As part of a growing organization, contribute toward the development of standard operating procedures in all areas of influence, and continue to find new ways to improve quality and efficiency
* Assist the Building Manager with other duties as needed, and provide general support of the BPCS mission in whatever way possible
**About You:**
* At least 2-3 years of custodial experience, preferably in an educational setting
* Ability to complete minor repair work
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to work independently

* Team Player- willingness to jump in and help the team as needed.

* Provide emergency coverage in the event team members are absent
