Job Details
As a Fabricator in the Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment essential to our manufacturing processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of our production facilities by utilizing your expertise in welding, machining, and fabrication techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and weld components using various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to fabricate parts and assemblies accurately.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and longevity of machinery and equipment.
- Repair and modify existing equipment to improve functionality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues promptly.
- Utilize a variety of tools and equipment, including saws, grinders, drills, and CNC machinery, to fabricate and repair components.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Document maintenance and repair activities accurately in maintenance logs and databases.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support other departments as needed with fabrication and maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding, fabrication, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a fabricator or welder, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with machining tools and equipment such as lathes, mills, and CNC machines.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to welding and fabrication.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across different departments.
Salary Description
$30-$35 per hour
