Copywriter
Remote - Columbus, OH
8-month contract 20-30 hours/week
2 5+ years of experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Journalism, Communications or related field with 2-5 years experience in marketing communications or creative department
- All applications must include writing samples to showcase copy experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
- Comfortable working independently with little direction under tight deadlines
- Proven ability to demonstrate brand voice
- Strong strategic thinking and persuasive writing skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Appreciation for the legal limits of marketing to children and families
Responsibilities:
- Write copy for variety of channels including email, direct mail, online, and social
- Understand brand positioning and voice to be able to express message in a compelling, original, elevated, and accessible way
- Edit and proof work to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs
- Stay current on trends within editorial sphere
- Drive the creation of original concepts that result in effective and compelling communication
- Write clear and error-free content for email and direct mail
