Title:Construction BuyerLocation:New Berlin, WisconsinWe are currently seeking a Construction Buyer to add to our growing team.

**Nature of Work:**

The Construction Buyer is responsible for partnering with leadership and field crews to plan and purchase the required materials and equipment for a job. The construction buyer will seek quotes on prices and availability of materials from a variety of suppliers and manage and report on the costs of purchases. The Construction Buyer is all responsible for ensuring that all materials comply with health and safety guidelines, and that the required project leaders are aware of purchases and pricing.

****Duties and Responsibilities:****

Duties listed below may vary in terms of importance and other duties may be added or eliminated as this position develops.

* Works collaboratively with Estimating leaders on requests for quotes regarding materials and equipment.

* Sources local suppliers as necessary and develops a supply base that will match our company strategies for capacity, quality, and delivery.

* Manages materials and equipment rental needs onsite for accuracy and scheduling required for the job, while negotiating pricing or utilizing national contracts in our system.

* Manages site logistics and sources trucking to assist crews as required.

* Reviews onsite inventory with Area Managers and Crew Leaders for stocking levels as needed. Utilizes pre-job checklists to minimize emergency needs for the site through proper planning and fulfillment of consumables on the job site.

* Authorizes payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation in Metaviewer; and reconciles any invoice discrepancies.

* Identifies, recommends, and implements quality standards and optimal workflow.

* Other duties and projects as assigned.

**Required Competencies:**

- Bachelors degree in Business or other closely related field

- 5-8 years of experience purchasing, and working with suppliers and contractors

- Knowledge and understanding of construction materials

- Negotiation and supplier management skills

- Analytical thinking skills

- Strong math and budgeting abilities

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment

- Proficient with Microsoft Office

- Most of the work will be performed in an office environment.

- Position requires 10-15% travel depending on project locations.
