Seeking a talented and driven Platform Discovery Scientist to join their dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in advancing their tRNA-based therapeutic platform, contributing to the development of novel treatments for a range of genetically defined diseases. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers in a fast-paced, innovative environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of experiments to elucidate the mechanisms of action underlying tRNA-based therapeutics, with a focus on RNA biochemistry and northern blot analysis.
  • Cultivate mammalian cell lines and perform functional assays to assess the efficacy and safety of RNA-based therapeutics.
  • Utilize various omics techniques, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, to characterize therapeutic candidates and gain insights into their mechanisms of action.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize therapeutic candidates for preclinical development, leveraging your expertise in RNA biochemistry and mammalian cell culture.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, presenting findings to internal stakeholders and contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field of RNA therapeutics and actively contribute to the scientific community through participation in conferences and scientific meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research strategies to advance the company's therapeutic pipeline.


Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with a focus on RNA biology or nucleic acid therapeutics.
  • Strong background in RNA biochemistry, with expertise in northern blot analysis and mammalian cell culture.
  • Proven experience working with various omics techniques, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including molecular cloning, PCR, RNA isolation, and gene expression analysis.
  • Experience culturing mammalian cell lines and conducting functional assays to assess RNA-based therapeutics' efficacy and safety.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently troubleshoot experimental challenges.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for translating scientific discoveries into innovative therapeutics to address unmet medical needs.


Compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 - $140,000 + package (commensurate to experience and background).
