Northeast Medical Equipment Services Inc. (NEMES), in partnership with Precision Surgical Inc (PSI), is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician who will become a part of our dynamic team of Service professionals. NEMES provides expertise servicing of healthcare facilities, specializing in operating rooms, emergency rooms, ICU and Labor & Delivery departments. Our services include installation and service of equipment, such as surgical/exam lighting, surgical tables, surgical booms, and many other types of support equipment, covering the New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania and New York City, and surrounding areas.


Position Summary: The Field Service and Installation Technician will be responsible for providing service and customer support during field visits via dispatching. The Technician will be responsible for all on site repairs, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, diagnosing errors or technical problems, determining proper solutions, and repairing of medical and non-medical equipment systems and products. This position reports directly to the Field Service Manager and Office Manager.


General Job Duties:

Daily travel to assigned customer facilities to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair surgical and non-surgical equipment.

Work hours primarily evolve around hospital critical care areas and may require before or after normal business hours to analyze equipment for service/repair. The position requires availability to work nights, weekends and after 5:00 pm, on an as needed basis.

Responsible for the routine service, repair, emergency service, preventative maintenance and /or installation scheduled on surgical equipment using training, troubleshooting techniques, manuals, and other tools, as required.

Ability to efficiently work with the Office staff, following dispatch instructions for serving customer service needs, by responding in a timely and professional manner with the clients, using company software.

Partners and interacts with other service technician(s) during customer installations, repairs, and scheduling adjustments.


Position Requirements:

Experience in Healthcare equipment repair and maintenance strongly desired

Reliable Employee-owned vehicle (mini-van, enclosed truck or S.U.V. preferred).

A valid Driver s license and a safe driving record

Must be able to pass a drug and background check

Electronics knowledge & troubleshooting preferred

Skilled proficiency in the use of tools and test equipment (multi-meter)

Periodic weekend work will be needed, as well as after hour emergency on call service. The position requires availability to work nights, weekends and after 5:00 pm, on an as needed basis.

Proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required and basic computer knowledge

Ability to regularly lift and/or move fifty pounds or more


Education Requirements:

High School Diploma, equivalency required

Military training is a plus
