The Senior Accountant shall support all accounting operations within the organization, verify financial records and transactions, and manage the accounting team. The incumbent combines excellent analytic skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain books and records in accordance with department policies and procedures
  • Review and prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for areas as assigned, ensuring high work product and level of detail
  • Prepare daily reconciliation of cash balances, and periodic check requests
  • Review account reconciliations and account activity analysis
  • Assess, research and document appropriate sales transactions within our business model
  • Identify risks, implement standards and controls, and maintain proper process documentation
  • Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records
  • Prepare financial and tax packages, compliance reports, and other reports
  • Identify and drive process improvement or other projects
  • Reconcile and analyze accounts monthly, review reconciliations and reports prepared by others, and promptly research and correct any variances
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Participate in special projects; including process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills & Competencies

Education and Experience Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  2. 5+ years in an accounting environment, or public accounting preferred
  3. CPA certification strongly desired
