Day Shift - Monday through Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm and some Friday shifts

Job Title: Powder Coat Worker I

Starting Base Pay: $18.00 / hour *

Pay Type: Hourly Non-Exempt Full Time

Location: 391 Kennedy Drive, Red Bud, IL 62278

*Wage based on weld test results and experience.

What you'll do in this role:

The Powder Coat/Dip line employee builds healthy communities through play and recreation by ensuring parts are safely processed through the operation to produce a high-quality finished product.

Safety:

  • Comply with all safety requirements and maintain a strong safety culture. Must have a safety-first mentality through proactively speaking up about concerns, following PPE requirements and setting an example for others to follow.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in accordance with 5S requirements for cleanliness.
  • Keep coating department clean and functional.


Quality:

Responsible for painting production parts to specifications and quality standards. The position involves preparing surfaces for painting and applying paint to surfaces.

Responsible for putting out a high-quality product, with appropriate and uniform mil thickness and free from runs, sags, orange peel, etc using skills and knowledge of company processes.
  • Perform production duties to produce parts according to order specifications.
  • Move product and inventory using a forklift and bin system.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Execute and document quality inspections.
  • Use grinder to smooth and clean as appropriate prior coating process.
  • Ability to successfully perform hanging, grinding, and tear off functions of the coating line.


Qualifications

  • Attendance is considered important; must be willing to work overtime and be at work each scheduled workday.
  • Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with work.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is desired.
  • Experience in coating is desired.
  • Requires the ability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Requires the ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Set an example for team members of commitment, application of skill, work ethics and habits and personal character.
  • Looking for a strong safety minded, enthusiastic person with can do attitude. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving ability. Must have excellent work ethic with strong communication skills to engage with both the customer and internal teams.
