Description

JOB GOAL: Support the operation of the Food Services Department by serving nutritious meals and maintaining excellent sanitation.
Essential and Marginal Functions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Act as cashier.
2. Heat and serve meals according to ServSafe guidelines.
3. Sanitize work areas according to ServSafe guidelines.
4. Report equipment failures.
5. Maintain records as directed.
6. Establish good rapport with students and staff.
7. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist in verifying delivery invoices.
2. Assist with placing entries into the food service ordering system.
3. Collect meal counts from Principal or designee to determine total number of meals required.
4. Must be willing to engage in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Must be able to pass certification requirements for all local, state, and federal inspections including ServSafe.
3. Knowledge of equipment operation preferred, but not required.
4. Knowledge of sanitation processes preferred, but not required.
5. Ability to operate a computer and applicable software and devices.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
7. Ability to work as an individual and as a team member.
8. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of customer service skills and professionalism.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
10. Ability to support a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
11. Other qualifications to the above that the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.

REPORTS TO: Food Service Supervising Team and/or designee

SUPERVISES: Not applicable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Job calendar specific. Expected to report to work at the regularly scheduled start time during inclement weather delays.

EVALUATION: For new employees, evaluations will be performed according to the current collective bargaining agreement. For transferring employees, evaluations will be done at 30 days. All regular employees will be evaluated at least yearly.
