Plant Controller
Perm Position
On Site in Milwaukee, WI (opportunity for hybrid schedule)
Overview:
The Site/Plant Controller position functions primarily as a business partner to plant and financial management but is also required to be hands-on and highly interactive with operations & commercial leadership. The position requires an attitude of and emphasis on providing excellent customer service and expertise to the business.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all FP&A reporting to management on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis (including 3-year Strategy Planning and Budget)
- Act as a key business partner to the Plant Manager performing ad-hoc tasks to satisfy requests and inform plant and leadership of financial implications of business decisions
- Oversee 3-Year Strategy Planning process including coordination with Commercial, Engineering, and Operations functions to coordinate presentation to Gearing leadership and long-term financials creation
- Ownership of Budget process and monthly forecasting working with plant leadership to set direction and establish financial targets
- Manage monthly close process and improve internal controls and procedures.
- Direct monthly forecasting process with plant
- Assist with monthly SIOP process and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX.
- Fiduciary profit-and-loss responsibility for approximately $50 Million operation
- Train non-financial leaders in financial concepts
- Partner with other functions and serve as lead financial support for plant projects
- Support and guidance with plant leadership to understand product line profitability
- Hold teams accountable for financial results
- Improve internal controls and procedures
- Improve financial analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a preference for Accounting
- MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of accounting/finance experience in manufacturing.
- Multi-Site responsibility and previous leadership experience are big pluses
- Desire to shape the development of the Accounting/Finance function in a dynamic, demanding, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate complex financials in a clear and understandable manner at all levels of the organization.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Intellectual ability to embrace and learn from the challenges associated with working in a multi-cultural, geographically dispersed organization.
- Able to quickly and effectively build trust, establish credibility and foster cross functional working relationships.
- Ability to communicate complex financials in a way that is understandable at all levels of the organization
