Job Details
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with customers and commercial management for Gowan Milling Blytheville. The Business Development Specialist reports to the Manufacturing Commercial Manager with a dotted line to the Gowan Milling Blytheville Plant Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop strong customer relationships at multiple levels and understanding of their product and business strategy. Understand the customers' values and imperatives, such as safety, sustainability, or community; communicate and align as appropriate.
- Take the lead in hosting customers for customer onsite visits.
- Represent Gowan Milling Blytheville at relevant events.
- Manage commercial pricing in collaboration with the plant manager.
- Collaborate with customer account team on maintaining pricing schedules.
- Collaborate with customer account team on any commercial questions.
- Hold annual pricing reviews.
- Work closely with finance to understand the cost of operations to ensure effective pricing.
- Identify opportunities for additional business in the ongoing facilities or partnerships for expansion.
- Work with Manufacturing Commercial Manager in building business cases for new projects.
- Maintain deep understanding of current contracts in place and ensure proper contract management.
- Maintain deep knowledge about emerging trends in formulation technologies, how demand may change for various processes and recommend the path for Gowan Milling.
- Understand capabilities of Gowan manufacturing sites to represent the entities effectively.
Required Qualifications:- A strong technical foundation and broad understanding of crop protection and/or plant health products.
- Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and formulations.
- Excellent communication abilities internally and with the external network.
- Creative/Critical thinking skillset.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements- Travel Required. ~25%
