PREP COOK I JOB DESCRIPTION GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIE S At Magnolia, the Prep Cook is responsible for prepar ing food to restaurant specifications. The Prep Cook plays a key role in contribut ing to kitchen success and guest satisfaction. This position works from Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Posse s s a b asic knowledge of ingredients Possess a b asic knowledge of measuring units and the ability to read and execute recipes Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and special events EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Kitchen or bakery experience required 1 -3+ years experience in a high - volume restaurant preferred While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks and kitchen appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, heavy lifting, potentially slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals.
