Job Summary

The Mobile Diesel Technician/Mechanic position requires a technician with strong mechanical and electronic knowledge to troubleshoot mechanical repairs needed on trucks. The Mobile Diesel Technician/Mechanic must be able to work independently and have strong organizational skills.

Mobile Diesel Technician/Mechanic Responsibilities
  • Repairs and maintains all mechanical components in light, medium and heavy trucks.
  • Take all safety measures to assure safe as possible working environment prior to starting work and assure procedure are used such as use of wheel chocks, LOTO, proper use of jacks, etc.
  • Operates various manufacturer computer programs to run diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnoses trouble codes and provides solutions for mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain work truck to assure part inventory is accurate and in good condition.
  • Assure proper mechanical maintenance is performed on work truck
  • Work in close communication with Service and Parts Departments to assure customer and Bentley owned trucks are serviced in the timely and accurate manner.
  • Return warranty parts, cores, to manufacturing or Bentley location for processing.
  • Document all repairs to assure all labor and parts are captured and customers are billed correctly.
  • Keep customer updated on progress and realistic expectations.
  • Will need to be able to make preventative maintenance and maintenance repairs.
  • Stay current on state and federal regulations.
  • Stay current with company provided OEM Manufacturing training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Diagnostics and repair of air and hydraulic brake systems, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning systems, engine mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb into trucks, kneel, crawl, lay underneath them to diagnose and repair.
  • Accurately document work performed on repair orders.
  • Certifications on either Isuzu or Hino products are a plus.
  • Experience performing Mobile Repairs and maintenance.


Mobile Diesel Technician/Mechanic Requirements
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in performing mechanical diagnostics/repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license: CDL Preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs/push-pull 75lbs
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screening required by DOT.
